• It is a good idea to have your heating system professionally serviced once a year in order to keep your the system operating effectively.
• The best time to service your furnace would be in the spring at the end of the heating season. Because this is the off-season, you can often get a discount, and service is likely to be prompt.

One of the biggest "enemies" of your heating and cooling system is dirt. It can drastically lower the efficiency as it has to work harder and wastes extra fuel.

Dirt affects the three basic components of the system. Cleaning, vacuuming and lubrication / belt adjustment are the most important parts of regular maintenance.

Protection plans are offered by larger HVAC companies which can include free service and an annual maintenance for an annual or monthly fee. These plans are usually more valuable for older furnances as they are usually dirtier and the manufacturer warranty that usually come with the purchase of a new unit has expired.
